Creating Music
(For Vocal and General Music Teachers, Grades 2-8)
Explore a range of activities designed to help children develop their
musicianship and musical creativity. Young composers can learn to (1)
use simple conducting cues to lead improvisations; (2) transcribe
their improvisations using invented notation; and, (3) create
settings of poems and stories that combine well with academic curriculum.
